• Ensure that the installation tool, the seal and the housing are clean and make sure that the seal groove meets dimensional speciications.
• Place seal on lat surface with sealing lip facing down. Position tool so that center pin is outside the seal O.D. (Outer diameter) and the handle pins are inside the I.D (inner diameter).
• Rotate handles to fold the seal properly.
• Install seal carefully into the housing fromexternal end of bore.
• Position the folded seal in the groove. Release pressure and remove tool.
• Veriy the seal is installed properly. If needed use your ingers to fully seat the seal into the groove.



Rod seals can often be installed into closed grooves through carefully bending the proile sim- ilar to a kidney shape and then inserting it into the groove. It is very important to avoid sharp bend- ing. Thin and lexible proiles can be installed by hand. The installation tools for rod seals help to install proiles of greater section thickness.
